About the Artist: Art has been part of my experience as long as I can remember. My mother was very talented at drawing, and she encouraged me to draw from the time I could hold a pencil. Art became my hobby. During my working years as a college professor, I managed to attend some watercolor workshops, paint a little, enter some shows and do an occasional commission. Now, in retirement, and living on Longboat Key, I have the time to devote myself to art and its many challenges. My painting style is representational, and I work in watercolor, colored pencil, pen & ink, oil, pastel and photography I have studied watercolor with Anne Abgott, Diane Maxey, Ralph Murray, Carlton Plummer, Douglas Teller, and, Zoltan Szabo; pastels with Nancy Goff and Lee McVey; and, oils with Louis Tedesco and Bill Jerdon. I am a member of the CNYWS, FWS, the Artists Guild of Holmes Beach, Anna Maria Island where my work is on display, and a signature member of FSWS. |
