February 2023 Plein Air Meeting Locations
Plein Air Painters, please see the information on AGAMI event "PAINT THE TOWN" which takes place for the whole month of February 2023. Tuesday February 7, 9am – 12pm Café on the Beach
From Bradenton, take Manatee Ave West until it runs into Gulf Dr. Go across the intersection to the
parking area just south (left) of the restaurant. There are bathrooms, shade, picnic tables, and plenty ofbeach views. Some stay for lunch.
Tuesday February 14, 9am – 12pm Robinson Preserve South (the Nest)
From 75th Street North, turn left at 9th Ave NW to the end, across 99th St NW is the entrance to the
parking. The left for takes you to the circular parking by the two-story Nest building from where you can paint views of the water. The right fork takes you to the large parking area that is on the edge of the restored salt marsh. There is no shade at the salt marsh.
Tuesday February 21, 9am – 12pm Bay Front Park
Take Gulf Drive North to Pane Ave (north end of the island). Turn right and go to the end (Bay Blvd), turn left, and go over the bridge. There is a car park on the right after the bridge. Bathrooms are available and picnic tables. Many waterfront views to paint and plenty of shade. Tuesdays the farmers market is at the corner of Bay Blvd and Pine until 2pm.
February 28, 9am – 12pm Florida Maritime Museum
4415 119th St. W, Cortez, Fl 3415. Coming from the island over Cortez Bridge, turn right at 119 St W. If
you are going towards the beaches on Cortez, turn left 119 St W. Almost immediately from 119 St W,
turn left into parking lot of the Museum. The meeting place is behind the museum, at the pond between the parking lot and Cortez Rd.
NOTE:
1) Please check the weather. If it is raining, very windy or below 60 degrees Fahrenheit we will not meet.
2) You are welcome to start earlier or stay later if you like.
3) Try to obtain a contact number for a member who is likely to
attend so if you have difficulty finding the meeting place you can contact that person. But even if you don't see others, settle in to enjoy painting wherever you land!
