Anne Abgott , a Canadian born artist now based in Florida whose vibrant , confident watercolors have earned her award -winning recognition and a devoted following of students. Originally trained as a teenager in oils in Ontario , she made a decisive shift
to watercolor after relocating to the USA in the late 1990’s .
Her bold method of “ mingling “ fresh pigment directly on the paper , rather than layering thin washes, sets her work apart : its dynamic , immediate, and full of a chromatic energy few artists attempt.
