Our Guild’s Plein Air Painters May/June/July sites are now listed.

Here is a refresher for those unfamiliar with or fuzzy on the details of this fun program.

 

Each Tuesday morning, Guild members and friends gather at a designated location to plein air paint, photograph, sketch, or just hang out with others. We set the time from 8-10 a.m. to catch the early-morning light and to beat the heat and island traffic.  If you have never done it but are curious, stop by.

 

Participants can come later, stay later, or join others afterwards for lunch somewhere.  You can come to one, two or all sessions, it is completely up to you.  There are no rules, just fun.

 

Karen de Leon Stuart, Reen Troy, Becky Mack, and Wendell Graham make up the AGAMI Plein Air Painters Committee. At least one of them will be on-site each week and will place placards in their car window(s) and on their easels to identify the group and let attendees know they are in the correct locations.

 

If it is raining or if the temperature is below 55 degrees, then that day’s event is cancelled.

18.  Tuesday, 16 June 8-10 a.m. Perico Preserve* 11700 Manatee Avenue W, Bradenton (*follow walkway past gate, take first left to a little pond with a bird blind there.  If there are too many people there then go a bit further and there is another bird blind and a little bridge where it is nice to paint.)

23.  Tuesday, 21 July 8-10 a.m. Secret Little Spot in Holmes Beach, behind the Mobil Gas Station (right before the Gulf Drive N and East Bay Drive traffic light by the Walgreens) is a parking lot that leads to a little spot with a great view of the Manatee Bridge. (you can drive to the left side of the Mobile Station to the parking lot behind or park in the Walgreens and walk across the street in the crosswalk to the boardwalk on the other side.  Follow the boardwalk to the Secret Little Spot.
